Erick Fedde dominated the Washington Nationals en route to a 4-0 victory for the Chicago White Sox in the second game of Tuesday's twin bill. Andrew Vaughn belted two home runs, driving in all of the White Sox runs. Fedde blanked his former team over seven innings, earning the win and a doubleheader split. The righty hasn’t allowed a run in his last two outings.

Fedde has been a revelation for the White Sox after signing a two-year deal in the offseason. The 2023 KBO MVP lowered his ERA from 3.00 to 2.60 for the year by silencing the Nationals' bats. He scattered three hits over seven frames, fanning six and issuing no walks. The righty finished with 99 pitches, 18 called strikes, and six strikes swinging.

The Vaughn Offense

Andrew Vaughn provided the only damage done by the White Sox offense. Vaughn belted two homers, his second and third of the year. The first baseman's three-run homer staked Fedde to an early lead in the third. Tommy Pham extended the inning with a two-out walk, with Rafael Ortega advancing to third on the ball-four wild pitch.

The three runs proved more than enough for the Sox starter, but Vaughn added an insurance run in the eighth.

Light Drama

Jordan Leasure and Michael Kopech completed the final two innings for the White Sox. However, the ninth inning wasn't without some drama.

Kopech issued two walks and had two wild pitches in the frame. With runners in scoring position, he induced a foul popout from Keibert Ruiz, and Jesse Winker lined out to Andrew Benintendi, who made a nice running catch in the gap to seal the win.

News and Notes

Dominic Leone threw a bullpen before game one of the doubleheader. The righty is on the 15-day injured list due to lower back tightness.

The White Sox improved to 10-8 since starting the season 3-22.
