Five early bold predictions for Kansas City Chiefs in 2024
Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

The 2024 NFL season is quickly approaching and while we’re still some months away from football being played, the excitement is beginning to build. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up to make a run at a three-peat, a feat that is nearly impossible to achieve. While they will open the season as a Super Bowl favorite, every single team in the NFL is gunning for them.

Each and every year, the Chiefs have had to face some kind of adversity. Whether that be a key player leaving town or another situation, they have found ways to overcome.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the Chiefs know that the NFL got better around them. Winning another Super Bowl is going to be even more difficult than the last two have been.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at five early bold predictions for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024 NFL season.

5 Early Bold Predictions For The Kansas City Chiefs In 2024

5. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown Becomes A True No. 1 Wideout

One of the most underrated moves of the entire offseason was the Chiefs bringing in Hollywood Brown. He is one of the fastest wide receivers in the league, which bodes well for him playing with Mahomes.

Brown is coming off of a season with the Arizona Cardinals that saw him catch 51 passes for 574 yards and four touchdowns. He is going to take that production to a new level in 2024.

We are predicting that Brown will become a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver for the Chiefs. He will rack up 85 receptions for 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns. Mahomes has had a ton of success with a wide receiver who can take the top off of defenses in the past and Brown is set to resume that role and find major success himself.

4. The Kansas City Chiefs Win The AFC West Division Again

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs do have some tough competition to go up against. The Las Vegas Raiders are a team that should take a big step forward and both the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers have loads of talent.

That being said, it does appear that the division has gotten somewhat weaker than what it was in 2023. With those facts being stated, the Chiefs are in line to win the division once again this season.

3. Chris Jones Wins Defensive Player Of The Year

Being able to re-sign Chris Jones was an outcome that not many media analysts were predicting for the offseason. He was expected to price himself out of Kansas City and end up on another contender. When everything was said and done, Jones inked a five-year deal worth over $158 million.

With a new contract under his belt, Jones will continue producing like the elite wrecking ball he has been throughout his career. He will end up with 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, and some other quality numbers.

That production will end up winning him the Defensive Player of the Year award. His impact will be felt each and every week and the Chiefs will look very smart for figuring out a way to keep him in town.

2. Patrick Mahomes Wins The NFL MVP Award Once Again

So far throughout his career, Mahomes has won the NFL MVP award twice. He won it back in 2018 and he also won it in 2022. The 2024 season will mark this third time winning the prestigious award.

Mahomes will have more weapons this season than he had last year. Even with a struggling supporting cast, Mahomes threw for 4,183 yards and 27 touchdowns, although he did throw 14 interceptions.

With a new-look cast of targets around him, Mahomes will end up compiling 4,500 yards, 35 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. Those stats will win him the coveted award for the third time, further cementing his case to be crowned the “GOAT.”

1. Kansas City Makes Yet Another Run To The Super Bowl

Of course, for the Chiefs, no season is a success unless they win a championship. We aren’t going to go as far as to predict that they will win the Super Bowl, but we are predicting that they get to the big game.

Behind the leadership and dynamic offense of Patrick Mahomes and company, the Chiefs will once again be the best team in the AFC. Will they end up securing the three-peat? Only time will tell, but they’ll put themselves in position to accomplish that impressive feat.
